Brow PMU Aftercare: What to Expect & How to Care for Your New Brows.
Congratulations on your new brows! Whether you’ve chosen Nano Brows, Microblading, Ombre Brows, or Combo Brows, proper aftercare is essential for beautiful healing and long-lasting results. Here’s everything you need to know about the healing process, what to expect, and what to avoid.
The Healing Process: What to Expect
Days 1–3: Fresh & Bold
✔ Your brows will appear darker and bolder than expected—this is normal!
✔ Slight redness, swelling, or tenderness may occur.
✔ Keep brows clean and dry while following your aftercare routine.
Days 4–7: Flaking & Itching Begin
✔ Your brows may start to flake or scab—DO NOT pick at them!
✔ Mild itching is normal but avoid touching your brows.
✔ The pigment may look patchy as the skin heals.
Days 7–14: Brows Appear Lighter & Patchy
✔ Flaking should subside, revealing a much lighter color.
✔ Some areas may look uneven, but this will improve as the skin regenerates.
✔ Continue to avoid water, sweating, and harsh skincare products.
Days 14–28: Color Starts to Settle
✔ The color will gradually return and even out over the next few weeks.
✔ Your brows should look more natural and defined.
✔ A touch-up session may be needed at 6–8 weeks for perfecting any areas.
Brow PMU Aftercare: Do’s & Don’ts
✅ What You Should Do:
✔ Keep brows dry for the first 7–10 days. Avoid getting them wet in the shower or while washing your face.
✔ Apply the recommended healing balm (if advised by your artist).
✔ Use a clean cotton pad to gently wipe brows if needed.
✔ Sleep on your back to avoid rubbing brows on pillows.
✔ Follow the healing timeline and be patient—good results take time!
🚫 What You Should Avoid:
❌ No picking or scratching! This can cause scarring or pigment loss.
❌ Avoid heavy sweating, saunas, or swimming for at least 10–14 days.
❌ No makeup or skincare products on your brows for at least 2 weeks.
❌ Stay out of direct sun exposure and avoid tanning beds for at least a month.
❌ No facials, Botox, or chemical peels near the brows until fully healed.
How to Maintain Your PMU Brows Long-Term
Once fully healed, your brows will be low maintenance but not no maintenance!
✨ Avoid exfoliating or retinol-based products directly on the brows to extend the pigment’s life.
✨ Use SPF on healed brows to prevent fading from sun exposure.
✨ Book a touch-up session at 6–8 weeks for the best, longest-lasting results.
✨ Depending on the technique, annual touch-ups are recommended to keep your brows fresh.
